Artwork and Design
Here at Cosmic, we can either help you design artwork, or take your artwork and display it beautifully on all colors of the rainbow!

What kind of file types are the best?
If you have your own artwork, we prefer to get files in .eps, .jpg, .png, or high resolution PDF files. Our favorite are the .eps files!
What size will the print be?
You can decide which size you want on your shirts, though generally you should keep the print between 13 inches wide and 18 inches high. This way it will both fit on the screens and fit on the shirts!
What should I keep in mind when doing artwork?
Keep in mind the medium on which we are printing. Since we are printing on fabric, you are going to want to try and keep your lines bold and striking. While we can do fine detail, if the lines are too fine, they may not show up as well as you would like, and are more likely to damage when washed. While screen printing shirts will stand up to a LOT of wear and tear (MUCH more than the iron on pictures), the super fine lines may suffer in the process.
Why is there an artwork charge if I send in my own artwork?
More often than not, there are still tweaks that must be done to artwork. If your artwork is 1 color, in a .eps format, is exactly the right size with which to go to print, we will happily waive the artwork charge. Otherwise, we still need to adjust the art to be able to print.
However! The artwork charge is a ONCE PER ART cost! So, if you come back to get more shirts done, we still have your art on file! We find that this especially benefits local businesses, schools and summer camps, who often return each year.
Why is the print charged by color?
Screen printing is done by laying ink onto the shirts through specially prepared screens, which are made of a fine mesh that ink is pressed through. Each color in a piece of artwork requires a separate screen that gets aligned with the first. So, if a piece of artwork requires three colors, that shirt will get printed three times, once for each color.
